Dignified, Stress-Free Bathing for Cognitively Impaired Patients
Bathing is one of the most challenging care activities for dementia patients and one of the most important for infection prevention. Bed Shower Wibby enables gentle, in-bed bathing that reduces agitation, caregiver injury, and infection risk.
Dementia patients are at high risk for C. auris colonization in SNF settings. The Gussin 2025 study (CID) was conducted in nursing home settings where dementia patients represent a significant proportion of residents. CHG bathing with Wibby addresses this risk without the behavioral disturbance of traditional bathing.

Residents with moderate-to-severe dementia were resistant to traditional shower room bathing, causing distress for both residents and staff. Bathing-related behavioral incidents were occurring multiple times per week.
Bed Shower™ Wibby™ was introduced for residents who refused shower room bathing, allowing familiar in-bed bathing with warm water and familiar surroundings.
Bathing-related behavioral incidents decreased by 74%. Staff injury from resident resistance dropped to zero. Resident dignity scores in family satisfaction surveys improved significantly.
"Our residents with dementia are calmer, cleaner, and more comfortable. Families have noticed the difference immediately."
Director of Nursing, Memory Care Community
Wibby is the portable, home-care version of the Bed Shower system, ideal for nursing homes, memory care units, and assisted living facilities that may not have hospital-grade plumbing. Its compact design and gentle operation are well-suited to dementia care environments.
Transfer-based bathing is a major trigger for agitation in dementia patients. In-bed showering with Wibby eliminates the disorientation of transfer, maintains the patient in a familiar environment, and allows caregivers to control water temperature and pressure to minimize sensory disturbance.
